Every year in March we host our annual Pine Car Derby. This is a 1-day event where parents and children can compete for the best looking or fastest pine car. It's a lot of fun, with various other booths and activities included. Mark your calendar now for the 13th Annual Pine Car Derby, in 2012.

Pine Car Derby Race Day
March 3, 2012, 1-5 p.m.
The theme for this year’s Pine Car Derby is Cars can be designed using three areas related to military equipment and gear, military sites and structures, and military transports and vehicles. See the attached Design Sheet for examples. Saturday, March 3, will be the Derby Race Day. Race time will be from 1:00 til 5:00 on Saturday. Cars will race on two aluminum six lane 42’ tracks with an electronic finish line. Each car will race six times. The track will be set up in the Life Center at Bethel Baptist Church. Included in this program is the Entry Form along with a Pine Car Design Sheet. The design sheet will be used to draw your car shape before or on the workshop day. Extra wheels, weights, axles and graphite will be sold on workshop and certification days, along with technical assistance. This will be the fourth year that we will be using nail type axles instead of the one piece long axles from previous years. Certification Day. In the Annex cafeteria. Last Names A-H 1pm ; I-P 2pm ; Q-Z 3pm. All cars must be turned in and certified. Track will be set up for final testing. Winning cars from previous years are not eligible. |
March 3
1-5pm |
Race Day. All six rounds will be tested. Attendance is required. Door prozes will be awarded after the final ceremony for those in attendance. |
